Biography

Helen Ferguson Mize stepped into Glory on Saturday, March 25, 2015. Her unwavering faith in GOD, her strong will to live and the love and prayers of her family and friends carried her through the past four years. She possessed a loving smile and a caring gentle spirit. Caring, giving and praying were her true callings in life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mize; her parents, Bill and Tessie Ferguson and her brother, Jim Ferguson. Survivors include two daughters, Pam Mize and April Dunn and her husband Bobby Dunn; a son, Barry Mize and a foster son, Jay Carr, his wife Julie and son August; a special grandson, Blake Dunn who brought her great joy and was the apple of her eye; four sisters, Christine Ferguson, Delores Jones, Brenda Ferguson and Tammy Gardiner and her husband Richard. Also surviving are several special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; two children adopted in love, Diana Funk and James Fortner.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Legacy Church from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with funeral services following at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Brett McCleary and Shirley Keene officiating. Graveside services will be held the following day, Thursday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m. at West End Cemetery.
