She was born May 26, 1931 in Columbus to the late Rocco A. and Bessie E. Cappocciama Pentello. On November 24, 1956 she married Robert A. Parker, who died September 6, 1989. Survivors include her three children; three step-children, whom she loved as her own; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three siblings; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, of Columbus; and a sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Beth Ann McKinnon; and four brothers, Phillip, Michael, Anthony and Thomas Pentello.
Dee was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where she was active with the Lazarus Committee, the Greeters and Ushers, and cleaning the altar linens. She retired from the Kroger Company in 2002. She enjoyed Card Club and loved to crochet, making many afghans for family and friends. She was a member of the "Golden Girls," and for ten years met for lunch every Wednesday at Donato's. Dee's presence on this earth touched many, especially her family. Her conversation and smile always lit up a room.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Thursday at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, where a wake service will be held at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, 61 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
