A young Mount Union native, Robert M. Carl, 18, of Eagle, Chester County died in Delaware Memorial Hospital at Wilmington of Wednesday evening, January 13.

The deceased was born in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital on September 8, 1947, a son of H. Glenn ad Carol (Suders) Carl. The family left Mount Union years ago and for the past two years have been residing at Eagle.

Young Carl was captain of the 1964 football team at Downingtown High School. He also was captain of the wrestling team at the school.

He was a member of the Lehighton Methodist Church at Lehighton.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother and a sister, Joann L. Carl and Glenn S. Carl, both at home. Other survivors include the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Suders of Mount Union and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Gladys Carl, also of Mount Union.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16 at 10 a.m. at the Edmund . Towson funeral home at Downingtown. The Rev. Dean Hagerty will officiate and interment will be made in Haven Rest Memorial at Mount Union, R.D. Friends will be received at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.
