Colonel Benjamin Franklin Wilson was born October 24, 1837 in Georgia, the son of William Wilson (1799–1849) and Rachel (Lowry) Wilson (1797–1870).
He was married about 1872 to Sara "Sallie" Morris (1852–1928), the daughter of Robert Campbell Morris (1817–1892) and Rebecca C (Henderson) Morris (1815–1875).
A retired banker living at 3 miles Harding Road out of Nashville, Tennessee, he was 74 years old and married when he died at home of uremia and nephritis on June 16, 1912. Burial was two days later in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
