Harry J Reid, Jr., 69, of Urbandale, died at home unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 22.Harry was born in Perry, Iowa, to Harry Sr. and Pauline (Black). He graduated from Perry High School in 1964, serving as class president and in 1968 from the University of Iowa, where he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa fraternity. Harry was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force in 1969. Harry left active duty service as a first lieutenant in 1972 and was subsequently promoted to the rank of captain in 1974. After his time in the Air Force, Harry worked primarily in the tire industry, including director of sales and marketing for Michelin. Harry volunteered his time in such causes as adult literacy education and hunger relief in his community. He was also an avid Iowa Hawkeyes sports fan. Harry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Dianna (Brown); three children, Jim, of Alpharetta, Ga., Jeff (Linlin), of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Angie (Mike Haley) of Ft. Myers, Fl.; sister, Kathy McDonald; brother, Kenny; and two grandchildren.
