Michaela was born on July 13, 2014 and passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016. Their father, Vadym Kholodenko, the Van Cliburn, award-winning pianist, discovered the bodies of his girls, 5-year-old Nika Kholodenko and 1-year-old Michaela, last Thursday, March 27th at the Benbrook home that the children shared with their mother, Sofya Tsygankova. The 31-year-old woman has been charged with two counts of capital murder. Someone who went to the house to check on the family on the 6600 block of Waterwood Trail called 911 at about 9:30 a.m., according to Benbrook Police Cmdr. David Babcock. A public memorial service was held March 29, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Arlington Heights United Methodist Church 4200 Camp Bowie Blvd. Service was conducted by Robertson Mueller Harper Funeral Home, at 1500 8th Avenue, Fort Worth, TX, United States. The family suggests contributions to the Nika and Michaela Kholodenko Young Artist Fund administered by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.
