Alvalyne Evans, 94, passed away on March 21, 2016.
Alvalyne was born October 13, 1921, to Jess and Esther Simmons in Honey Grove, Texas.
She married Virgil Evans in November 1939.
The 2 oldest daughters, Patricia and Margie, were born in Honey Grove. Virgil and Alvalyne moved to Fort Worth in 1946 where Larry, Ronnie, Phyllis, Michael and Karen were born.
Alvalyne was a homemaker until around 1963 when she began to work outside the home. She retired from Tandy Wire and Cable when she was 70. Virgil and Alvalyne were members of South Campus Baptist Church for many years. Everyone loved Alvalyne's cooking and there were many wonderful memories through the years, especially the family Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Alvalyne like to travel. She and Virgil took trips to Arizona, and the Smokey Mountains. Alvalyne went with family to Colorado and Virginia, and there were many trips to Texarkana and Honey Grove to spend with family. Alvalyne and Virgil loved to play 84 with brothers and sisters. Later Alvalyne continued to play 42 with her friends every week.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Virgil Evans; Daughter, Patricia Ann Carter; Daughter-In-Law, Rita Evans; and Brother William "Buck" Simmons.
She is survived by her siblings, Betty Mills, Curtis Simmons, Roger Simmons and Sister-in-law, Beulah Simmons (Wife of Mr. Buck Simmons); 3 Sons; Larry Evans, Ronnie Evans and wife Mary, and Michael Evans; 3 Daughters, Margie Hilbun and husband Doug, Phyllis Crow and husband Leroy, and Karen Ducker and Josef Lubczyk; 16 Grandchildren, Charley Carter, Tim Carter and wife Maria, James Carter, Charlyne Payne and husband Chris, Steve Hilbun and wife Kelly, Diane Hilbun, Craig Hilbun and wife Casey, Angela Glass, Christina Harris and husband Ryan, Chris Evans, Tara Evans, Richard Crow and wife Caren, Amanda Frampton, Ben Ducker, Matt Ducker and wife Shannon, and Haley Ducker; 18 Great Grandchildren, Richard, Michael, Diana, Jamie, Brittany, Marvin (Bubba), Zyra, Remy, Gwyneth, Madeline, Emma, Tyler, Ariana, Emily, Danielle, Jack, Cate and Hannah; and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
