A life-long resident of Texas County and well-known farmer, James H. McCubbins, 65, died of a heart attack Friday afternoon at his farm home one-half mile north of Eunice. He was a member of the Eunice Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Grow of Madrid, Iowa and Mrs. Arzana Arey of Lamarque, Texas; two sons, Frank of Houston, Texas, and Harold of Houston, Mo.; two brothers, Herschel of Yukon and Lawrence of Marshalltown, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Lay and Mrs. May Bandy, both of Houston, and Mrs. Lydia Chambers of Pittsburg, Kansas; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at Big Creek Church by Rev. Carl Swinney and Rev. Walter Baker. Burial was at Big Creek under the direction of Elliott's.
