Quincy Daily Whig. Fri, Jun 14, 1918 - PHILIP BRADY, AGED URSA RESIDENT, DEAD - Prominent Contractor and Had Lived in Adams County All of His Life.
Philip Brady, one of the oldest life long residents of Ursa, died Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in the home of heart trouble, after an illness of only 18 hours. Mr. Brady had been feeling in the best of health until the attack of sickness and was never able to leave his bed.
He was born in Mendon 66 years ago and followed the business of a concrete contractor. The decedent never lived outside of Mendon or Ursa townships and was one of the best known residents of the entire county. His wife, who survives, was formerly Miss Phoebe Pollock. Mr. Brady was a life long Member of the Bloomfield Catholic church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four brothers, Patrick, Joseph, Edward and Matthew, all of Mendon; four sisters, Mrs. Alex Schaffer, Ursa; Miss Elizabeth Brady, Bloomington, Ill.; Mrs. Rosa Davis, Weisser, Idaho; and Mrs. Katherine Hastings, Loraine; also several grandchildren and a large circle of friends.

The funeral of Philip Brady was held this morning at 11 o'clock from the Freiburg undertaking parlors and burial was in St. Edward's cemetery at Mendon (Author's Note: St. Joseph Church, Bloomfield Cemetery southeast of Mendon), the Rev. Father Reinfels, officiating. The pallbearers were George W. Frazier, James B. Variner, Tom B. Smith, James T. Ruddell, Elijah Sheperd and George Campbell.
