Carolyn Sue (Stringfellow) Withers, 63, wife of Raymond Birl Withers and resident of Ramona, Oklahoma, passed away at 3:53 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2010, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville.
Carolyn Sue Stringfellow was born on August 20, 1946 in Horn Town, Hughes County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Woodrow Stringfellow and Lorene (Bradshaw) Stringfellow and the step-daughter of Betty Jo Stringfellow. She was reared and received her education in Holdenville where she graduated with the Senior Class of 1963.
Carolyn and Raymond Birl Withers were united in marriage on January 30, 1965 in Holdenville at the Freewill Baptist Church. They made their home in Wetumka, Oklahoma, moving later to Wewoka, Oklahoma. In Wewoka, Carolyn and Raymond were employed with the 9 & 56 Junction Diner. From Wewoka, they moved to Seminole, Oklahoma where Mr. Withers was employed by Kelsey Hayes Axle Corporation. In 1980, Carolyn and Raymond moved to Ramona, Oklahoma where they have remained since that time and where Carolyn was a wonderful wife and homemaker.
Carolyn was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She had many interests. She loved her family, her pets (dogs, cats and turtles), and she loved going for walks. Carolyn was loved by many and will be missed very much by her husband, family, friends and pets.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond, of the family home in Ramona; step-mother, Betty Jo Stringfellow, Holdenville; sister, Patricia Ruth Freeman, and her husband, Walter, Casa Grande, Arizona; half-brothers, Junior Ray Stringfellow and his wife, Wendy, Holdenville, and Roy Ray Stringfellow and his wife, Shelly, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and half-sister, Wanda Jean and her husband, Chad, of Holdenville, OK.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister, Betty June Withers.
