Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Funeral Home in LaCenter, Ky. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery in McCracken County, Ky.
A NATIVE of Kevil, Ky., he was a graduate of McClean College which later became a part of the University of Kentucky. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi honorary engineering fraternity and Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity. He was a veteran of World War I.
Married to the former Eddie Rutherford in Kevil, who survives.
He was employed by the Interstate Commerce Commission before joining the Corps of Engineers in 1939. He came to the Nashville district in 1947 as chief of the appraisal branch.
BURNLEY, OF 802 S. Wilson Blvd., was a member and former deacon of Vine Street Christian Church, a member of the Disciples of Christ Historical Society, the Civitan Club and the Golden Key Club of the University of Kentucky.
Survivors, in addition to his widow, include two sisters, Mrs. Percy Jones and Mrs. Doris Colvin, LaCenter, Ky.
