Ann Estelle (Short) Roberts passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 in Brady, Texas at the age of 89.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady with burial to follow at the Rochelle Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M.

Ann was born on January 7, 1927 in Brady, Texas to George Manuel Short Jr. and Maude Estelle (Sellman) Short. She was a 1944 graduate of Rochelle High School.

Ann married Fred Everett Roberts on December 27, 1974 in Rochelle, Texas. They had been happily married for 24 years at the time of his passing in 1999.

Ann retired from the ASCS office after 34 years of employment. She was a member of several hobby and craft clubs and organizations in McCulloch County. Ann was a woman of strong faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Brady, where she proudly served as the Sunday School Secretary. She loved sewing, arts and crafts, gardening, reading, cooking and spending time with her family. She was lovingly known by her grandchildren as "Ms. Ann". Her beautiful smile and caring heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Everett Roberts and her parents, George Manuel Short Jr. and Maude Estelle (Sellman) Short.

Survivors include; one daughter, Linda Beam and husband Rufus of Rochelle; one son, Freddy Roberts and wife Linda of Trenton, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Gary Gossett and wife Claylene of Rochelle, Lou Skiles of Aiea, Hawaii, and Kadi Ralston and husband John of Adams, Tennessee; six great grandchildren, Shaylene Gossett of Rochelle, Amber Brown and husband Josh of Kempner, Ty and Ellie Ralston of Adams, Tennessee, Malia and Magri Skiles of Aiea, Hawaii; as well as four great great grandchildren, Peyton, Kelton and Nikki Williams of Brady and Kamryn Brown of Kempner.
