Wife of Andrew Ellicott, together they had 8 children.
She and 2 of her younger children passed from small pox.
Also may be resting in Downington, as other Ellicotts are there, including a Andrew.
Contributor Claudia Davenport-Sullivan (47345651) shared the following:
Andrew Ellicott (b. 1mo/Mar 22, 1733/34 at Buckingham, Bucks Co) married 1st Elizabeth Brown having declared their 1st intent on 11mo/Nov 3, 1755, 2nd intent on 12mo/Dec 1, 1755 and on 1mo5, 1756 Friends appointed to attend reported it orderly accomplished. The Compiled Marriage Records for Buckingham Mo Mtg in Bucks recorded their marriage as 12mo/Dec 31, 1755. Only the Minutes are extant.
Elizabeth died 4mo/Apr 19, 1766 of the 8 children, 3 died young (Elias #1, Andrew and Elizabeth).
After the 1766 death of 1st wife Elizabeth, on 5mo/May 4, 1767 Andrew Ellicott declared his intent to marry Esther Brown Jr. contrary to the Friends of Buckingham Mtg. The Mtg reported "she being his former wife's 1st cousin, the meeting could not comply" with their intent.
On 11mo/Nov 7, 1768, Esther now Ellicott produced a paper condemning her conduct which the meeting accepted with the approbation of the Men's Mtg.
Many have given Andrew Ellicott one wife and call her "Esther Elizabeth Brown", however that is incorrect according to the records.
