Katie Stoehr
Jerome – Katie Stoehr, 73, of Jerome, died early Wednesday morning at a Salt Lake City Hospital.
She was born April 30, 1905, at Rushville, Neb., and attended schools in Sheridan County, Neb. She married Marshall B. Stoehr, at Chadron, Neb., on Dec. 14, 1926. They came to Idaho in 1937 and settled in the Mud Lake area. They later moved to American Falls and came to Jerome in 1944. They farmed west of Jerome until 1947 when they moved into town. Mrs. Stoehr had worked at the Wood Café in Jerome and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977.
Survivors include a son Duane Stoehr of West Jordan, Utah; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Virginia) Osborn of Anchorage, Alaska, and Mrs. Thomas (Beverly) Shannon of Burlingame, Calif.; two brothers, Elwin Masek of Rushville, and Dr. Rudolph Masek of Cheyenne; three sisters, Agnes Brownlaw of Scotts Bluff, Neb., Bessie Abold of Haysprings, Neb., and Emma Schildhauer of Rushville; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday at the Hove Funeral Chapel with Rev. Leslie A. Lewis and Rev. Charles G. Shaklee. Burial will follow in the Jerome Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hove Chapel from 5 to 9 pm Friday and until 1:30 pm Saturday.
