She was born May 26, 1931, in Meredosia, the daughter of Perry and Hazel Floyd Six. She married Cledus Barfield on Jan. 3, 1948, in Bluffs, and he survives.
She is also survived by four sons and one daughter, Jeff (Jeanette) Barfield of Mount Sterling, Steve (Vickie) Barfield of Meredosia, Chris (Bob) Henninger of Chambersburg, and Johnny Barfield, and Randall (Tammy) Barfield, both of Versailles; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Shirley (Robert) Phillips of Rushville and Norma (Mike) Koyne of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Tommy, in infancy; two grandsons, Lucas Barfield and Russell Barfield; and six sisters and two brothers, Dorothy, Laura, Violet, Virginia, Pauline, Leroy, and Margie, and David in infancy.
Mrs. Barfield was a good cook and enjoyed flowers. Her life revolved around her family, and she especially enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia.
