At an early age the family moved to a farm north of Lewellen, Nebraska where she attended school at a sod school house. It was here she also attended Sunday School. Later the family moved to Madrid, Nebraska where she graduated from high school.
After graduating from high school she went to Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she majored in music and Bible Study, graduating in 1930. Shortly after their marriage, they went to their first pastorate in eastern Nebraska. This was the beginning of over 50 years of Christian Ministry which took them to many states. After they retired they lived in a house on their daughter and son-in-law's ranch in South Dakota until her husband's death July 4, 1984. She moved to Greeley in 2000.
