John D. Kasta, 69, a retired barber, died in a local hospital yesterday afternoon following a brief illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 PM tomorrow in the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home by Mrs. Ida Neice, reader of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Buriel will follow in the Masonic Cemetery. A Native of Wisconsin, Kasta had lived here for the past 43 years and formerly was a partner of the 11th Street Barber Shop. He leaves his widow, Nell Kasta of Modesto; one son, John Louis Kasta of Modesto; two brothers, L.C. Kasta of Canada and Rudolph Casta (sic) of Milwaukee, Wis., and one sister Josephine Schocier of Milwaukee.
