Sister Jerianne Stelmach, age 67, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Monday evening, March 14, 2016 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. The former Karen Stelmach was born on November 9, 1948 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Harry and Willette Elizabeth (Kuffel) Stelmach. She entered the Convent in 1963 and professed her vows in 1970. Sister Jerianne served as a homemaker/dietician at St. Francis Xavier, Petosky, Michigan; St. Catherine Mission, Topawa, Arizona; St. Mary, West Point, Nebraska; St. Theresa, Kekaha, Hawaii; Holy Family Convent and Silver Lake College of the Holy Family, Manitowoc, St. Rose, Clintonville, all of Wisconsin; coordinator of Food Services at Holy Family Convent. She served a Sponsor Presence Representative at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna, and as Local Director at St. Francis Convent, Manitowoc. Sister Jerianne had been a resident of St. Rita Health Center, Manitowoc, since February 2016. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; one sister and brother-in-law: Kay (Jim) Steuer; a nephew: Jay (Holly) Steuer; and a niece: Katie (Adam) Meyers. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Willette (Kuffel) Stelmach.Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Finian Zaucha, O.F.M. with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
