William “Wig” T. Bobbitt Sr., 84, of Jonesboro went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. He was born to the late James and Dollie Bobbitt on October28, 1931. Though a native of Arkansas, he pastored for several years in Fort Meade, Florida where he started two churches. He started two other churches in Jonesboro as well. William was a building contractor for 40 years and was easy to make friends with and left a lasting memory. He was loved by all that knew him as well as his family. He was preceded in death by his son, William (Buck) T. Bobbitt Jr.

William is survived by his wife, Etta Sue Bobbitt; sons, Jim Bobbitt (Cheryl) and Adam Bobbitt (Weslyn) of Jonesboro; daughter, Judy Brown (Joe) of Jonesboro; step daughters, Michele Merriman of Jonesboro and Terri Wallace of Medford, Oregon; sister, Vera Lee Hammett. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home with Jim Bobbitt officiating. Burial will follow at Old Enterprise Cemetery. The visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2 p.m.
