Samuel Adamson
Born Oct. 20, 1845 in Wright County, Missouri. Died Oct. 22, 1927. He is buried in the Steele Memorial Cemetery in Wright County, MO.
Samuel enlisted on March 1, 1864 at Hartville, MO., for 20 months, in Company G, 6th Regiment Provisional Enrolled Missouri Militia Infantry, during the Civil War. Samuel was mustered into the militia on August 5, 1864, at Springfield, MO, being a farmer from Wright County, at the age of 18, with hazel eyes, dark hair, dark complexion, and 5 ft. 11 in. tall. By the beginning of 1865, the 6th Regiment had become the 16th Regiment, Missouri Calvary. Samuel was on detached service at Hartville, MO. from February 25, 1865 until July 1, 1865, when he was mustered out of the company at Headquarters Post, Lebanon, Missouri. Samuel retained a Remington revolver and accoutriments at the muster-out on July 1, 1865 for $8.00 due the U.S.

Samuel and Samantha's children were: Henry (1867), May A. (1869), Columbus (1873), Frank (1877). (records show Samantha was mother of six, with four living.)
