Laverne Hill of Moore, Oklahoma, formerly of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to Mac and Ruby (Reeder) Johnson on February 10, 1935 in Lawton, Oklahoma and passed from this life on September 29, 2006 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years.
Laverne grew up and attended school in Lawton. She obtained her B. S. in nutrition from DonsBauch University. On November 21, 1954, Laverne married Joseph Hill in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Together they operated their architectural firm, Joseph Hill and Associates for many years. She was very active in helping with christian missionaries and had been learning spanish to help with her missionary projects. Laverne was a prayer warrior and was an avid reader of the Bible.
In her spare time, Laverne enjoyed cooking, reading, painting, writing poetry and working in her garden growing flowers. She was a member of the Valley Christian Church.
Mrs. Hill is survived by; 2 sons: David Hill and his wife Laura of Owasso, Oklahoma Bart Hill and his wife Jessica of Amarillo, Texas 1 daughter: Laurie Sloan of Moore, Oklahoma Her mother: Ruby Johnson of Lawton, Oklahoma 1 sister: Linda Hicks of Lawton, Oklahoma 5 grandchildren: Merah Nassar, Joshua & Taylor Sloan, Reece & Heath Hill 1 great-grandchild: Alex Nassar

Funeral services for Mrs. Hill are scheduled for Tuesday, October 3, 2006 in the Paoli First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
