Bobbie Garner, 83 years of age, passed away March 12, 2016. She was born June 14, 1932 in Coushatta, LA. She was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a passion for sewing and reading. She loved mysteries, and always enjoyed a good story. Listening to country music was a favorite pastime, as well as working with flowers and raising a garden. She loved the Lord, and always enjoyed listening to a good sermon.
She worked at Natchitoches Manor for around 15 years, starting out as a Dietary Manager, and later becoming an LPN. She had a sweet tooth, and always enjoyed eating Skittles and drinking peach tea. She was a hard worker, on the job and at home, and always strived to raise her family the best she could. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Bobby Cedars and wife Peggy of Madison, MS, Brock Cedars of Dallas, TX, Ricky Cedars of Jasper, TX, Edwina Hayward and husband Donald of Natchitoches, LA, Marianne Morrison of Pineville, LA, and Catherine "CJ" Cedars of Natchitoches, LA; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; the father of her children, Raymond Cedars, Sr.; two brothers, James Balzrette and wife Gwinn of Shreveport, LA and Carson Gene Balzrette and wife Sue of San Antonio, TX; one sister, Mary "Pete" Waddle of Gloster, LA; a very special sister-in-law, Katherine Thompson of Winnfield, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Garner; her son, Raymond Butch Garner, Jr.; her granddaughter, Kimberly Thompson; her parents, Brock Balzrette and Annie Able Balzrette; a daughter-in-law, Rhenda Cedars; a son-in-law, J.W. Morrison; three sisters; and three brothers.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Stacy Cedars, Kerry Cedars, Douglas Thompson, Wilson Cedars, Jr., Shane King, Jeff Amos, David Hayward, and Joshua Cedars.
