Carroll Chronicle Friday 1 June 1906
In memory of Elizabeth J Allmon who departed life this life May 26, 1906.
On Saturday Mrs. A. had attended to the duties of the home, seemingly to be in good health; about 10 p.m. she called her husband, sister, and son and told them she was not feeling well. A few minutes later her spirit departed.
Elizabeth J. Huston was born May 1846; was united in marriage with a James Allmon Nov. 14, 1865. To this union were born eight children—five sons and three daughters, all of whom survive except Nannie who preceded her mother to the better land about five years ago.
In early life she united with the Presbyterian Church at Monroeville; in 1865 she joined the U. B. church at West Union, where she remained a faithful Christian until death.
Loving her Savior she loved truth, sincerity and righteousness.
She was an affectionate wife, a loving mother, a true friend and neighbor, and as such she will be sadly missed from the home, the church, and the community.
Funeral services were conducted Monday by Rev. Loyd of Salineville at the West Union church. The text is found in I John 5th chap. 11th v. “And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.”
