Mrs. Evie Lou Thomas, 51 was dead on arrival at a local hospital yesterday afternoon. The coroner's office said Mrs. Thomas was driven to the hospital by her husband, Alvin, for treatment of abdominal pains when she suddenly slumped over. A resident of Stockton the past 12 years, she made her home at 444 E. Sixth.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include seven children, Betty Ray Lawson, Joseph Oren Lawson, Lorn Lee Lawson, Mrs. David H. Luft, Mrs. Mont Hale, and Gary Allen Lawson, all of Stockton, and Jimmy Lawson, of the U.S. Army; four brothers and sisters, including William and Vern Luther and Mrs. Eva Hames of Stockton; and 13 grandchildren.
