Gasparo "Gaspar" Battaglia was one of six children born to Giuseppe "Joseph" Battaglia and his wife Thomasa Marceline Chriccio.

Caspar passed away at the age of 23 from gunshot wounds received during a quarrel with Henry Flaspoller, who was walking Gaspar's sister Maria Anna (Mary Ann) home on December 26, 1917.
