An 1903 industrial accident caused blindness, learned Braille and was a champion for the blind in the State Assembly. Democrat and liberal. Member of St. Peters (Lischeys) Church. Age at death 62-3-17. Was a State Representative 1912-1920 and State Senator 1920 til death. Wife's house at 470 E. Market St has been rebuilt and will be an architecture Museum. His draft application of Sep 1918 indicates he had both eyes removed.
