PARSONS, MELVIN Age 77, went to be with his Lord on September 25, 2006.
Devoted husband and caring father, he is survived by his loving family: wife Violet; sisters Thelma and Betty; three sons Gary and wife Betsy, Kevin and wife Hillary, and Jeffrey and wife Kris; six grandchildren Tracy, Robyn, Nicole, Jillian, Jesse and Sarah; numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces all whom he loved very much; and brother and sisters-in-law Dorothy Locker, Art Chase, Carol Kinser, and Barbara Corner.
Will also be missed by his loyal friend and work associate of 35 years, Joyce Stewart.
Born in Santa Barbara, Ca., he lived through the Depression and served in the Army in WWII. He returned home to Eureka an married his wife of 58 years. Together they moved to Downey, Ca. in 1952 where Mel created his business that eventually became one of the largest escrow companies dealing with government agencies. Two of his sons worked with him in the business for 18 years until it sold in 1999. Mel and Violet had moved to avocados and grapefruit in the DeLuz area of Temecula and enjoyed 10 years of rural life with a close community of friends. In 2000 they relocated to Lake Mission Viejo. Mel was always there for the family, a strong and steady presence that all could look up to and admire. He will be missed by many but his memory will live on.
Services to be held at Grace Community Church of Lake Forest on Sept. 30 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Grace Community Church. Internment at Pacific View Cemetery in Corona del Mar.
