Elsie DeVillier, 82, of Savoy, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at her daughter's home in Slidell, LA.
There will be a Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Champaign Church of Christ, 1509 W. John St. in Champaign. Friends may greet the family immediately following the service for a dessert reception.
Elsie was born April 29, 1926 in New Orleans, LA. a daughter of Joseph and Anna Kimball. She was married to the late Paul Rodgers for 23 years. She has been with her current husband, Joseph DeVillier for 37 years. He survives and resides in Mount Dora, FL.
She is survived by three children, Pauline Schaudt (Don) of Urbana, Gwendolyn Locher (Randy) of Slidell, LA, Bruce Rodgers (Elaine) of Champaign; three stepchildren, Joe DeVillier (Diane) of Mount Dora, FL.; Johnnie DeVillier of Leonville, LA. and Patricia Wilkerson (Stuart) of Daytona Beach, FL; sister, Lillian Hamann, Belle Chasse, LA; brother, Leroy Kimball, Kenner, LA.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dale Paul Rodgers, three brothers and one sister.
Elsie was a homemaker and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
