Born in Perry Township, Ohio on March 5, 1927, He was the son of Hazel Hibbs Bennett and Roda Bennett.
Andy served his country as a Fireman Second Class in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.
He was married to Vivian Russell Bennett, now deceased, for nearly 65 years. Sugardale Foods in Canton, Ohio employed him for many years as a truck driver. Andy enjoyed bowling, golf, baseball, playing horseshoes, and enjoyed making his grandchildren and great-grandchildren smile. His green thumb was legendary amongst friends and family, although he remained humble on that subject.
He is survived by his daughter Debra Bennett Mahon and son-in-law James Mahon; grandchildren Kristopher and Wanda Mahon, Damian and Lauraleigh Mahon, Melissa Mahon, and Danika Mahon; and great-grandchildren Corbin Mahon and Declan Mahon. Internment will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA
