A native of Union, she was daughter of Catherine Alverson Waal of the home and the late Walter F. Waal.
She was a member of Padgett's Creek Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Union High School and formerly employed with the City of Union.
Also surviving are her husband, Jimmy D. Fowler Sr.; a son, Dr. Jimmy D. "Skip" Fowler; and a grandson.
The body will remain in Holcombe Funeral Home of Union where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Padgett's Creek Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. C.J. Calvert and the Rev. Melvin Hudson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.
