Esther Mary Barry Daly passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at her residence in Hammond, LA, surrounded by her family, at the age of 85. She was born on Friday, August 15, 1930 in Grand Coteau, LA to Laurence Sibille and Francis Barry.
Esther was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edmond Jerome "E.J." Daly, M.D.; son, Lawrence Edmond Daly; parents, Laurence S. and Francis S. Barry; and siblings, Arthur Frank Barry, Julian Octave Barry, Doris Barry Hilton, William Charles Barry, and Francis Xavier Barry.
She is survived by her children, Denise Daly Englehart (Chris), Marian Daly Severson (Chris), Jane Daly Kuebel (Conrad), Jerome Paul Daly (Wendy), and Patrick James Daly (Bradley McDonald); siblings, Beverly Barry Power and James Louis Barry; also survived by 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A registered nurse by profession, Esther was a dedicated volunteer for 20 years with North Oaks Hospice and was very involved with Holy Ghost Catholic Church. She was also a talented seamstress and loved gardening and driving her tractor.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Albert the Great Chapel & Catholic Student Center, 409 West Dakota Street, Hammond, LA 70401 on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held at church from 9:00 am until service time.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
