In high school, Bev graduated at the top of her class and went on to study biology at LSU. After college, she headed a medical technology lab in New Orleans and met her husband, Dr. John Power Jr.
Beverly is survived by her children: John E. III, Theresa, Pamela and Barry; seven grandchildren: Thomas, Matteo, Misa, Elly, Nick, Gavin and Ryan; and two great grandchildren.
She knit sweaters, and spoiled her grandchildren with cookies, and kept them on their toes at cards. She'll be remembered for her sharp wit, gentle wisdom and her cajun cooking (especially her gumbo). She was the backbone of the Power family.
Burial at Calvary Cemetery to follow.
