Esther Blanche Badertscher passed away peacefully at her home in Salt Lake City on September 30, 1995, 27 days before her 94th birthday.
Esther was born to Louis Albert and Blanche Barnes Bridgeland on October 27, 1901, in Genoseo, New York. She graduated from East High School and from the University of Utah, Magna Cum Laude, in 1923.
She married Raymond D. Badertscher, June 16, 1924. Raymond died December 5, 1981.
She was an active member and past president of P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter H. She also served on the board of the YWCA and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Esther was very devoted to her family. She loved her gracious home, which was open to everyone, and she loved the beauties of nature. Until recently, she maintained correspondence with friends throughout the country.
She is survived by a son, John W. Badertscher (Kaye) of Minneapolis, Minn.; daughter, Virginia Thompson (Del) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and daughter-in-law, Virginia Randle Badertscher of Eureka, Utah. She also leaves behind six loving grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, where friends may call Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to P.E.O., Special Projects, or the Intermountain Unit of Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children. Funeral directors, Evans & Early.
