Mark Young was the son of Thomas Young and Mabel Stodder. Grandson of Thomas Young and Jael Whitten and Samuel Stodder and Ruth Litchfield. Husband of Clorinda Hanks and Adah Smith. I don't know when Mark made the journey to Ohio from CT but it was when he was a young man and probably with a few siblings. There was a well known path that was taken from CT to Ohio during this time period. He married Clorinda Hanks about 1813 in Geauga Co., OH at the age of around 21. That was the year she arrived with family. She also was from CT. From this union came 5 children, Clorinda, Julia, Samantha, David, and Thomas. David is my 2-ggrandfather. After Clorinda's death, Mark married Adah Smith. This marriage took place on Nov 23 1853 in Painesville, Lake Co., OH. From this union came one daughter, Emma, who died of scarlet fever as a young girl and a son, Mark Jr. The forth photo shows his daughter Emma's stone nearby. Emma is the only family buried in same cemetery. I don't know what happened to his second wife Adah.
