His siblings include: Beatrice, Marie, Alfred, Jimmy, Percy, Viola, Joseph, Alberta, Bobby, Leona, Curley & Herbert. He was married to Virginia "Jenny" Minix and together they had 10 children; Nathalie, Sadie, Betty, Gloria, Harold, Charles, Kenneth, Rose Mary, Linda, & Earline.

He was survived by his wife Virginia Richard; his mother, Mrs. Mary Ophelia Blackwell Richard; three sons, Harold Richard, Johnnie Charles Richard and Kenneth Richard; seven daughters, Nathalie Pierre, Sadie Turner, Betty Celestine, Gloria Richard, Rose Mary Richard, Linda Richard and Earline Richard; four sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Richard, Mrs. Mary Richard, Mrs. Viola Roberts and Mrs. Leona Charlot; six brothers, Alfred Richard, Jimmy Richard, Joseph Richard, Bobby Richard Curley Richard and Herbert Richard and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Richard, Sr. and his brother, Percy Richard.
