Lucille F. Reece Jenkins, age 75, of 108 Buckshot Lane, at the intersection of Rhea Road and Buckshot Lane, Mountain City, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2016 at her residence. She was born June 3, 1940 to the late Hillary Cecil Reece and Ethel Carol Reece. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; James “Nat” Jenkins, one daughter; Deborah Keene, one sister; Beulah Allen, three brothers: Herbert, Clyde, and Claude Reece and her grandparents. Lucille attended Rock Springs Church of Christ and was a member of the Levi’s Retiree’s. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include: one daughter; Carol Dugger of Mountain City, two sons: Michael J. “Jimmy” Jenkins and fiancé Connie Pennington of Butler and Hillery Ray Jenkins and wife Angie of Trade, one sister; Barbara “Bobbie” Proffitt of Elizabethton, one brother; Walter Reece of Mountain City, seven grandchildren: Amanda Keene Tester, Kayla Keene Lacefield, Kendra Hill, Greg Jenkins, Brittany Danner, Michael Murphy, and Julia Lipford. Eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 6, 2016 from the East Side Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Morefield officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside service will follow from Phillippi Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Pleasant, Dr. Charles Hopland, and the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
