Charles and his wife Dolores had 9 children born in Hubbard, Ohio. He worked two jobs; a school bus driver & a master machinist. He was in the US Navy during WWII and Korea. He had a major stroke and his wife took care of him for many years.

HUBBARD A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church for Charles J. “Red” Baker, 88, who died Sunday July 19, 2015 at Northside Hospital surrounded by his whole family. He was born August 17, 1926 in Kimboltin, OH a son of Charles Emerson and Beatrice Josephine Addis Baker and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Baker served with the United States Navy during World War II and Korea and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. Red was a machinist for Sawhill Tubular for 10 years, retiring in 1989 and formerly worked for Republic Hose. He also drove a school bus for the Hubbard Public School System for over 17 years and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and most of all loved spending time with his family. He leaves his wife, the former Dolores I. Miller, whom he married April 21, 1948; a son, Michael (Barb) Baker of Hubbard; seven daughters, Charlotte (Jim) Lanz of Hubbard, Nance (Bill) Hoza of Columbus, Paula (Mike) Lynch of Marysville, Jennifer Skowron of Boardman, Karen (Dan) Carioti of Cortland, Lisa Baker of Cuyahoga Falls and Lori (Chuck) Hillman of Boardman and 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Red was preceded in death by his parents; a son Richard “Rick” Baker; three brothers, Bill, Bob and Ralph Baker and a sister, Beverly Baker.

Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post No. 540.
