Obituary in the DeQueen Bee, November 1, 1918
R.L. Nethery, one of Sevier county's most prominent and highly respected citizens, died at his home from an attack of influenza Sunday, Oct 20, at 9 a..m. The remains were laid to rest in the Mill Creek cemetery, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. F.P. Doak. R.L. Nethery was married to Miss Nancy Morphew, the daughter of Uncle Billy Morphew, of near Cheatham. Five children came to brighten their home, four girls and one boy. At the time of his death, their son and three of their daughters were victims of the influenza. The deceased is survived by his wife, ??? children and three brothers, J.W. and A.A. Neathery of Kemp, Okla., and C.C. Nethery of Bokchito, Okla. Mr. Nethery was born in Sevier county April 13, 1878, and lived here all of his life except for a short time while in Oklahoma. His large circle of friends were shocked to hear of his untimely death, and the heartfelt sympathy of all go to the bereaved ???. A Friend
