Harold W. Miller, 72, of 424 N. Taft, died Tuesday evening in a local hospital. He had been ill for some time. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Burial will be in a local cemetery. Visitations may be made from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Miller was born Nov. 1, 1905, in Norfolk to Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Miller. During his childhood, the family moved to Omaha where he attended school and grew up. He married Gladys Raynolds (Reynolds) Feb. 16, 1927, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. They lived at Council Bluffs, where he was engaged in construction work. Later, they moved to Blair, where he worked in construction and farming. In 1940 the family came to Grand Island. Here he worked in construction, trucking and lawn service until he retired.

Survivors include his widow; three sons, Francis, Niles and John, all of Grand Island; three daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Aguilar of Grand Island and Ms. Beverly Schaper and Mrs. Judie Riggs, both of Alliance; two brothers, Clarence of Omaha and Glen of Grand Island; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Jensen of Omaha and Mrs. Elsie Whemore of North Hollywood, Calif., 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.
