SALT LAKE YOUTH TAKES OWN LIFE IN MISSOURI CITY
Springfield, Mo., Feb. 20 - Kenneth Edmunds, 21 years old, of Salt Lake City, Utah, took his own life here today by swallowing a quantity of poison. The man had been living here for about two weeks, and had been employed temporarily by a local radio store. It is probable that the man's body will be returned to Salt Lake City for burial. Edmund's parents live in that city.
Mr. Edmunds was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Edmunds, 507 Second Avenue. The father is the head of the local accounting firm which bears his name. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. J. J. Lillie, and three brothers, R. W. Edmunds and H. C. Edmunds of Salt Lake and C. A. Edmunds of Oakland, Cal.
The boy had gone to Springfield from San Francisco, where he had spent the last year. His parents had not heard from him since his leaving the coast city.
The parents of the boy were prostrated with the news of his death, and could give no motive for the act. As far as they knew, he was in the best of health and spirits.
Kenneth Edmunds had been graduated by the high school at Golden, Colo., and had attended the University of Utah, where he was studying electrical engineering and specializing in chemistry. He was born in Salt Lake in 1905, and had lived practically his entire life here.
The Masonic lodge at Springfield is attending to sending the body home. It will arrive here on Tuesday and funeral services will probably be held on Friday. Announcement will be made at a later date.
