Obituary for Sybil Smith
Sybil K. Smith, 86 passed away on Monday June 15, 2015 after a brief illness. Mrs. Smith a resident of Lafayette, LA was the daughter the late Cullie King and the former Nellie Bateman.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, June 27, 2015 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers.
Reverend Michael DeBlanc, Associate Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church will conduct the Memorial Services.
She is survived by her children, Karen K. O'Pry and husband Donovan, Viki Lamberti, Penny M. Keller and Ted P. Keller, III; her grandchildren, Donnie J. O'Pry and his wife Stephanie, Matthew J. O'Pry, Adam J. O'Pry, Alexandra Tijerina and husband Saul, Amy Lamberti, Stephen Lamberti and Amanda Lamberti; and her great grandchildren, Donovan O'Pry, III, Charlotte O'Pry, Catherine O'Pry, Hayden J. O'Pry and Zander Tijerina.
"Bobbie" as she was affectionately known by her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, had a great love for cooking and entertaining guests in her beautifully decorated home. In her free time, she could be found working on one of her many beautiful cross stitch pieces or traveling. She also enjoyed working in her beautiful garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anthony H. Smith; her siblings, James King, Roma Jean Smith and Lanell Hull.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 10:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:30 am.
Special thanks to her dear friend Frances Weber, Hospice of Acadiana (especially her nurse Iggy), her care givers Tiara Arceneaux, Tamara Ben, Delsa Arceneaux and the staff of Rosewood Assisted Living.
