Arthur T. Alexander, 75, of Meta died Thursday, June 23, 1988 at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City. He was born May 5, 1913, in Dixon to Sherman and Saurilda Holycross Alexander. On Nov. 14, 1936 he was married to Annie Mataya, who died March 20, 1971. On July 1, 1972, Mr. Alexander was married to Lula Stokes Seaton, who survives at the home.

Mr. Alexander was a retired auto mechanic and had worked for many years for Chevrolet dealerships in the St. Louis area. From 1968 until 1974 he was a school bus driver for the Iberia School District. He also was an avid race car fan and was owner of race cars in the 1950s.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Alexander is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Roy Westbrook and the Rev. Robert Hamm officiating. Burial was in Freedom Cemetery near Dixon.
