Our sweet sister, aunt and friend, Ardelle Paul Grunig, passed away on February 20, 2016, at the age of 98. She was born on August 26, 1917, the 3rd of 7 children born to Isabell James and John Leo Paul in Rexburg, Idaho.
She graduated from Ricks College then received her bachelor's degree in education from BYU and her masters from USU. She was an elementary teacher for 40 years teaching, at one time, grades 1-8 in a one room school house, to teaching at the US military bases in Germany and Japan.
She married Logan Grunig and together they raised prize winning Black Angus Cattle. It was a joy for her nieces and nephews to visit her ranch and enjoy the ranch life and make honey taffy. They were later divorced.
She was a woman of quick wit, with many interests including: rock hounding, barbershop singing, watching professional and college sports and traveling. She especially liked a good game of cards or Mahjong with her dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Lione, Marjorie, Lois, John Leo Jr., and Donald Gordon. She is survived by her sister, Jeannette Gailey of Twin Falls, Idaho and many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at Valley Mortuary in Driggs on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 12:00, followed by interment at the Driggs Cemetery.
