Funeral services for Amos "Doc" Allen, age 69, of Algood will be held Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Burris Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again Monday, from 9:00 AM until time of service at Presley Funeral Home.

Doc passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at Upper Cumberland Hospice in Cookeville, Tennessee.

He was born Friday, March 29, 1946 in Jackson County, Tennessee to the late Dillard Gaskell Allen and Hazel McDaniel Allen.

Doc was a hunter and fisherman, and loved to raise a garden. He loved his family and friends, and always looked for an opportunity to help them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; seven sisters, Evelyn Hunter, Ruby Allen, Mayme Williams, Carolyn Reynolds, Judy McCloud, Delois Bowman, Brenda Clemmons, and Teresa Southerland; four brother, Carlos Allen, Damon "Cotton" Allen, Raymond "Puddin" Allen, and Larry "Junebug" Allen.

He is survived by; his companion of twenty years, Shirley Osborn; sister, Wilma Eldridge, of Cookeville, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gary Eldridge, Randy Eldridge, Danny Heady, Eugene Heady, Bobby Reynolds, and Shawn Reynolds.
