Sculptor. Born in Zamora, Spain, Lobo moved in 1939 to Paris, where he met and was influenced by fellow expatriate Picasso, among other artists. He was best known for his depictions of motherhood. Although Lobo remained in France, he was honored in his native country by awards like the Premio Nacional de las Artes Plásticas. The Museo Baltasar Lobo was opened in Zamoro in his honor.
