Wife of Martin V. Barnhart, daughter of Lewis Sampson & Sarah (Tuttle) Buchanan.



Mrs. Mary Ellen Barnhart, 91, a resident of the Shepherd Nursing Home in Ellenboro, formerly of Bens Run, Tyler County, died at the nursing home early Friday evening.


She was born in Pleasants County, daughter of the late Lewis and Sarah Buchanan. She was a member of the Mt. Nebo Church of Christ.


She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Dave Wright of St. Marys, Mrs. Bill Wenzel of Marietta, Mrs. Richard Newcity of Baltimore, MD, and Mrs. Thomas Carroll of Palm Beach, FL; three sons, Howard of New Cumberland, Ross of Friendly, and Lester of Coliers; 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin V. Barnhart; and three daughters, Evelyn Barnhart, Ida Barnhart, and Mrs. Vernon Jones.


Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2pm at the Ruttencutter Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial was in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Pleasants County.
