John H. Kolessar, Harding RD1, a native of Eckley, died Monday at Valley Crest Home, Wilkes-Barre. A graduate of Hazleton High School, he attended Lehigh University Law and Engineering School, and had been employed for 45 years as an engineer for the Lehigh Valley Coal Co. He was a member of St. Michael's G.C. Church, Pittston, and had been a district magistrate in Exeter before locating in Harding 20 years ago.
His wife, the former Mary Ormandy, preceded him in death. Surviving are these children: Andrew, West Wyoming; John, Camden, N.J.; Thomas and Edward, West Pittston; Mrs. Joseph Osticco and Mrs. Bertha Babish, Harding; Mrs. Angelo Ferrar, Pittston; Mrs. Ernest Hilbert, Exeter; Mrs. Leonard Miret, Miami, Fla.; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held today at 9 a.m. from the Recupero Funeral Home, West Pittston, with Divine Liturgy at 9:30 in St. Michael's Church. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
