Hazleton Standard Speaker; Friday, July 11, 1975:
George Kolessar, 412 E. Cranberry Ave., died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hazleton State General Hospital. He had been in poor health for the past six months. Born in Eckley, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Stranko) Kolessar, and had resided in Hazleton his entire life. Prior to retiring, he was employed at the Hazleton Shaft Colliery. The deceased was a member of St. Johns B.C. Church, the Woodmen of the World and the United Mine Workers of America.

He was preceded in death by a son, George Jr., in 1965. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Fritz; daughter, Mrs. Jerre (Betty) Klingerman, Drums; brother, John, Exeter, two grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home, Second St., with High Mass of Requiem at 9 a.m. in St. John's B.C. Church and burial in the Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. A Parastas service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
