Fred Shilling, age 74, of Bowling Green, formerly of Paradise Road, Orrville, died Thursday, August 10, 2006, at Blakely Care Center in Bowling Green, following a period of declining health.
Services will be held on Monday, August 14, 2006, at 11:00 AM at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, with Rev. David Kowaleski officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, where military rites will be observed.

He was born on June 3, 1932, in New Straitsville, Ohio, to the late Fred O. Shilling and the late Mary J. "Ilene" (Mills) Shilling and married L. Bernadine Hill on June 19, 1955, in Malta, Ohio. She survives.
Fred graduated from Malta-McConnelsville High School in 1950 and served in the 53rd squad of the US Air Force in Germany during the Korean War. He was the owner of Electro-Arc and Orrmatic Manufacturing in Orrville.
He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher and member of the Board of Trustees. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #145 in Malta, Ohio, and an honorary member of the Cedar Lodge # 430 in Orrville. Fred enjoyed his family and RV traveling in his retirement.
Surviving are wife, L. Bernadine Shilling of Bowling Green; a son, David A. (Victoria) Shilling of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Michael L. Shilling and Mary E. Shilling; and a sister, June Johnson of Troy, MI.
