Wife of Matthias Flanagan (1813-1891)
Wife of Thomas Russell (??-1853)
Came to America as a young widow between 1853 and 1856. She was either pregnant with or traveling with her young son, Thomas G. Russell. She eventually settled in New Albany, Indiana where her mother, sister and brothers were already settled since 1851. Ann and Matthias' first son was born in 1858.
Some family narratives say that she traveled to America with her young son on the same ship as her future husband, Matthias Flanagan; unknown whether they met on ship, or were both already planning on going to the same small Indiana community. However multiple records show that her son Thomas was born in Indiana, perhaps incorrectly.
